Tonifying Congee Recipe

Sweet Barley and Long Yan Rou Congee Crockpot Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup Barley (Mai Ya)
5 cups Water (Shui)
1 Tbsp Molasses
1 Tbsp Honey (Feng Mi)
9 pieces of Long Yan Rou
1tsp Nutmeg (Rou Dou Kou)
1tsp Cinnamon (Rou Gui)
Add all ingredients into the crockpot. Cook on Low for 2 hours. Turn down to warm for another 2-4 hours.
Delicious to eat warm or cold.
Properties of the Ingredients:
Barley: Neutral/Sweet, Salty/Tonify Qi, Blood, and Yin. Drain damp, resolve water accumulation, eliminates toxins
Molasses: Warm/Sweet/Tonify Qi and Blood
Honey: Neutral/Sweet/Tonify Qi and Yin. Regulates blood. Eliminates toxins
Long Yan Rou: Warm/Sweet/Tonify Blood. Nourish blood and Calms Spirit
Nutmeg: Warm/Pungent/Tonify Yang. Tonify Qi. Circulates Blood, disperses cold
Cinnamon: Hot/Sweet, Pungent/Tonify Qi, Yang, circulates blood, disperse cold, dries damp
