Wongu Health Center Happy Health Machine Presentation

On Thursday, January 20, Keita Sekine, OMD gave a presentation on the use of the Happy Health Machine. The Happy Health Machine is a low-frequency microcurrent machine, similar to a TENS unit.

Dr. Sekine demonstrated how to set up the machine and how to utilize the machine. The intensity, frequency, and duration are all adjustable. As it is using low-frequency, it is safe to use even at the highest frequency setting. Along with setting up the machine, Dr. Sekine also provided some clinical trial research that was done on the effectiveness of low-frequency therapy. A sleep study showed modest effectiveness in using low-frequency stimulation for patients with chronic insomnia.

Using the Happy Health Machine is an option for those who prefer non-invasive treatments like acupuncture. It provides a similar action to acupuncture, especially when it is placed at acupuncture points or local “ashi” points.
