WM402 Pathophysiology II

Prerequisites: WM301, WM302, WM303, WM304

This course is the second of four pathology and pathophysiology courses in the series that present the fundamentals of bio-physiological processes that relate to the development of diseases and their manifestations. The nature of disease and illness will be explored with respect to microbiology, immunology, psychopathology, and epidemiology for all systems covered. This course will cover in detail epidemiology terminology and its function and impacts on health and disease. An overview of public and community health and disease prevention, in general, will be examined. This course will examine the etiologies, pathogenesis, and mechanisms of common disorders of the infection process, inflammation, and the immune system, the cardiovascular system, and the respiratory system.
