WM401 Pathophysiology I

Prerequisites: WM301, WM302, WM303, WM304

This course is the first of four pathology and pathophysiology courses in the series that present the fundamentals of bio-physiological processes related to disease development and their manifestations. An overview of public and community health and disease prevention, in general, will be examined. The nature of disease and illness will be explored with respect to microbiology, immunology, psychopathology, and epidemiology for all systems covered. This course will examine cellular dynamics, inflammation and repair, fluid and electrolyte balance, acid/base and blood gas regulation, hemodynamics, and immunity.
