Prerequisites: OM501, OM502, OM503, OM504
A case-based learning course where students were focusing on clinical case discussion and problem-solving. The discussions involve modern acupuncture and oriental medicine literature, primary care responsibilities, and secondary and specialty care responsibilities. Not only emphasizing system-based practice, the course also focuses on clinical diagnosis, integrated analysis of clinical experiences, and clinical options as well as outcomes. A review of cases includes a discussion of diagnostic and treatment decisions. Additional topics include relevant contraindications, complications (including drug and herb interactions), continuity of care, referral, collaboration, follow-up care, final review, prognosis as well as future medical care recommendations.
