What to Expect

Upon scheduling your first appointment, you will receive an email with directions on entering your personal contact and medical information into the database. We recommend that you do not arrive for your treatment on an empty stomach. Please eat a light snack or meal prior to your appointment. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water before and after your treatment.

Treatments are approximately one hour in length. A comprehensive medical history will be taken during your initial visit. At each visit, the intern or practitioner will conduct a 15-20 minute intake, including a tongue and pulse diagnosis. After completion of the treatment, a custom herbal formula may be prepared to address and harmonize the condition.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that occasionally life gets in the way of your appointment but because we are a teaching clinic we must request that all cancellations be made with a minimum of 24-hour notice, but you will be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. To avoid the cancellation fee, please cancel before 24 hours of your appointment.

Payment

Wongu Health Center accepts payment by credit/debit card. While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide you with a billing summary which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Your practitioner will determine the number and frequency of your visits. If you are unsure of when you should make your next follow-up visit please let us know.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Federal law requires us to maintain the privacy of your health information. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) is a federal program that requires that all medical records and other individually identifiable health information used or disclosed by us in any form, whether electronically, on paper, or orally, are kept confidential. HIPAA gives you, the patient, new rights to understand and control how your health information is used. That law also requires us to give you this explanation of how we maintain the privacy of your health information. We reserve the right to change our privacy practices, provided the changes conform to applicable laws. Before we make a significant change in our privacy practices, we will change this notice and make the new notice available upon request.

All patient files are confidential records. No patient record may be duplicated except when a record release is signed by the patient and then only for the purposes described in the signed release, or when the Custodian of Records (Clinic Director) is presented with a valid subpoena from an attorney record service. No patient file is removed from the WHC.

Refer to our HIPAA Policy for more information.
